This early panel picture shows a female saint with three followers behind her. It would probably have formed the left hand side of a triptych, perhaps with a scene of Christ or the Virgin Mary in the centre. These panels were often cut down, and more usually destroyed, during the iconoclastic campaigns of the Reformation.
