Provenance

By descent from the sitters to Lady Alice Fytche who married in 1740, Sir John Barker, 6th Bart. of Ipswich and Sproughton, Suffolk. Acquired at Ipswich in 1838 with other family portraits by Hudson Gurney of Keswick Hall, Norfolk. Then by family descent until 1997.
